Website of the day – InkedBlog
InkedBlog’s “Every BODY has a story” category features very personal tales from readers about their tattoos. Some are comical, others sentimental, and then there are those that are so heart-warming it takes you by surprise. InkedBlog “celebrates tattooing as a modern art form” while forcing you to look at tattoos in a completely different way. It seems tattoos are ultimately a riotous manifestation of very delicate emotions.
Sadly InkedBlog announced a short hiatus back in October 2006, yet have not picked up action since. Luckily the stories and pictures of over a year of surprising anecdotes are enough to fill up a few hours of procrastination.
This one is my favorite: the story of three Australian friends who now live in different corners of the world, yet remain united through their tattoos. With Jilske moving to Sydney in less than a week, this really struck a chord.

“We three Aussies got these tats done a few years ago in Melbourne before all heading off to different parts of the globe.
Kerryn loves Kurt Vonnegut and decided to get “And so it goes” (a recurring line from Slaughterhouse Five) tattooed on her shoulder.
Finally on the other side of three decades worth of bad shit, Gil decided to get “And so it was” tattooed on her back representing the past that she has moved on from but that made her who she is.
And Meg, the eternal optimist decided to get “And so it will be” on her right arm as a symbol of the beautiful unknown.
We reunited this afternoon for a few brief hours before we were once again claimed by different time zones.”
